Cosplay makeup is an important part of cosplaying. It’s a makeup after all but, a bit different than daily makeup. It can visually change your eye shape, how big your eyes are, or even your gender. Materials you’ll need for cosplay makeup is mostly standard makeup stuff. We searched all the items a cosplayer needs for easy cosplay makeup. And this is the first part of the list.

Makeup Brush Set

Brush sets are critical for cosplay makeup. You should have at least 4 brushes at hand and more is better. If you know what to do with each brush, it’s easy to select how many brushes you’ll need. Here is a little list of the some brushes and what you can do with them:

  • Foundation Brush: For powder, or liquid foundations with heavy coverage. You will definitely need one.
  • Eyeshadow Brush: For eyeshadow. Having more than one is always better.
  • Powder Brush: For apply loose powder to set
  • Liner Brush: For powder eyeliners, preferred for some effects.
  • Blush/Contour Brush: For blush, highlights, contouring, etc.
  • Angled Brush: For shaping and eye effects

And last one suggestion: choose a makeup brush set which has its own case. They’re more practical and easy to carry around.

Cosplay is mostly the art of transforming you to a character who looks really different than you. And every theatrical change starts with your face. To make some optical illusions and transform your face to another, shading kits will be your very best friend. Shading or highlighting different parts of your face will do wonders if you do it well.
